Review on YoYoFactory DV888 Aluminum Yo by Robert Bigelow

Revainrating 5 out of 5

While the xt Butterfly was a good yo-yo to reignite my interest in the hobby,

I recently started playing Yoyo again after finding Duncan Imperial in line at the Naval Exchange cash register. After using the Imperial for a few hours I decided I wanted to get a more advanced yoyo and went back and found the Duncan Butterfly xt and tried to relearn some basic tricks from my youth. After looking at many trick guides and buying guides I decided I needed a better quality yo-yo so I could relearn the basics and also update it to play different styles as I got more experience. Yoyofactory has proven to be one of the most popular brands with a wide range of yoyos for every skill level, playstyle, budget and material. After receiving the DV888, I immediately knew I had made the right choice. While the xt Butterfly was a good yoyo to reignite my interest in the hobby, the DV888 allowed for more difficult tricks due to its amazing sleep time, the switch to the plastic 6061 aluminum yoyo feels like night and day. The quality is evident the moment you hold the yoyo in your hands. As my skills evolve, the DV888 will evolve with me. Yoyofactory makes a kit to turn this yo-yo into an immune play type for about $10, which will come in handy for learning new tricks. Overall, for the price, this is a great option for a yo-yo of this quality and expandability.

Pros
  • A GOOD SHAPE AND SIZE FOR ALL TRICKS - The DV888 is the result of a long-standing mission: to create a quality METAL yo-yo that everyone can perform tricks. Yoyer has found this design to be very comfortable to hold and easy to peel off when performing tricks.
Cons
  • Some bugs
