Ordered this blender mainly for making smoothies which according to the description is easy and good quality. First, while the glass vessel is very imposing, the base is not. It's a lightweight plastic and not strong enough for a glass jar, so it shakes every time it's used. I don't expect miracles from a cheap blender, but even my previous blender completely chopped up all fruits and vegetables, including frozen ones. That's the whole point. I use it properly by adding the liquid first and I have to shake it often as I work so it really mixes and not just fluffs. Then, no matter how long I run the blender, there are always at least a few small pieces of frozen banana, strawberry, or blueberry left over. With so many other options, spending money on this one would be very foolish. A big disappointment from a reputable company like Black and Decker. I think I should stick to their exercises.
