The motor on this blender worked for 3 months then a piece of metal inside came loose and every time you start the blender it sounds like it would be about to explode.

I was looking for a blender to make protein shakes. I was on the verge of buying a "cheap" unit for its intended purpose until I started reading reviews about how noisy they are and don't mix well with each other. I didn't want to spend a lot and decided to go with a ninja so I did some research and came across this one - it's so cool! It blends perfectly and leaves my smoothie smooth and not icy! And it does it FAST! Highly recommended

The only downside to this blender is that the lid is difficult to remove and very tight, but I still gave it 5 stars. Also, he mixes my homemade hot sauce as well as my ninja for a much smaller price. It cleans well and I look forward to the plastic pitcher not cracking over time or getting stained from mixing spicy food. I definitely recommend this blender.

The glass is thick and heavy. The base is slightly chromed. Actually there are only 2 settings, slow and fast. Pulse and stop have the same speed, slow and fast. Ordered this blender mainly for making smoothies which according to the description is easy and good quality. First, while the glass vessel is very imposing, the base is not. It's a lightweight plastic and not strong enough for a glass jar, so it shakes every time it's used.
