This is the third bracket I have tried on my Ford Explorer Sport Trac. The vent mount works in my wife's Enclave with flat vents, so the Wizgear model stays in this car. The suction cup mount worked but obstructed vision and my car never had a flat surface anywhere on the dash. This is where this model comes to the rescue. The 3m mounting tape is strong, so you better make sure to stick it where you need. I found this model to have a good mounting surface. Not too wide to be noticeable, but not too narrow to compromise a firm grip. I made sure the surface was clean (doesn't need to be as clean as the other mount) and left the phone on the mount until I was happy with its placement. I have it in a TPU case, but there will be another one soon to mount the drive outside the case. My truck is a little rough (hey, ten years old) but this magnet held up. In the vertical position there are no problems. When horizontal, it wanted to bend a little to the side where my car charger was plugged in. never mind I also tried this with a thicker case (Puregear) but it didn't hold up in my car as well. The problem is that with cases that have a glossy finish, the surface becomes too slippery unless the magnet is on the outside. Again, the TPU case solves this problem, and when I want wireless charging at home or at work, I simply remove the TPU case. back Photos of it installed in my car to follow EDIT: THE ASSEMBLY STILL GOING STRONG A YEAR LATER.
