I have been using WIX for years on mower, tractor, motorbike etc. In preparation for my yearly oil change on all toys I ordered some filters that I needed. This WIX was one of them. I won't do this again until they are sealed with plastic. Received my new one in a box mailed in a Manila envelope so the box was crumpled and barely held together - not WIX's fault. When I took the filter out, I shook it and banged it on a clean black surface on my workbench and the dust particles and shipping dust from the wrecked box that came out were horrible. This filter doesn't match anything I have so I sent it back. How difficult is it to put a protective film or plastic sleeve on it to keep it clean from the factory? I even went to the shelf, grabbed a spare WIX mower filter I bought at the store and repeated the process. Not bad, but still not happy with the results. Did the same with my spare K&N bike (which is sealed) and got nothing. Same with my factory car and 4 wheel sealed filter - nothing. As trite as it sounds, I don't want extra dust and dirt building up in my engine - it's the job of the filters to keep them out. don't put any in.
