This tripod is well made, very robust and has excellent pull-out properties. However, it has a very short screw that I attach my camcorder (Canon Vixia HF R800) to, which makes it very difficult to mount the camcorder on a tripod. My camcorder keeps slipping off the tiny screw when I try to turn the camcorder to screw it on. There's also a tiny "lock" button that's pressed when I press it with my finger. If I take my finger away, it reappears. I believe it is intended as a "security lock" to hold the camcorder in place and I see a second hole on the bottom of my camcorder that can be used for this "security lock". HOWEVER, that secure locking button stays depressed when I try to screw the camcorder on, adding to the difficulty. My next problem is that the location of this extra hole on my camcorder is in the wrong place to connect to the safety lock button. and for my camcorder to point in the right direction to use the tilt and pan button to move my camcorder up and down. My camcorder faces the wrong direction when mounted on a tripod. The safety lock button stays pressed causing my camcorder to tilt sideways. Everything is very strange and uncomfortable. A tripod shouldn't be that difficult to use.
