I try not to boil water in the microwave for various reasons. This little gem is faceted and looks amazing. The thermometer above is necessary as it does not have a whistle. It's light so heats up quickly and cooks in about 1.5 minutes, maybe a little more or less. Of course there is no escaping this. Heats up relatively quickly. The main problem is drying. I fill the cup to the brim and then pour it into the teapot. Heat it to a boil with the thermometer going to the boiling line. Then I drink coffee or tea. I shake out the rest of the water and put the kettle back on the hot but off burner. It comes out like this but I think it will dry out from the inside and I don't need to wipe it off. That being said, I didn't close the lid hoping it would hold more heat to dry out the inside so it doesn't start rusting or getting holes. The problem is that later when I remove the lid to make sure it's dry, condensation forms on the inside of the lid. So my drying process doesn't really work. I may need to either towel dry it before placing it on the still hot burner. or leave the burner on for a while to dry. It would be a little more dangerous, but I'll most likely try. In fact, this is not a violation of the terms of the contract. It remains to figure out how best to dry.
