I bought this to put on a pedestal. I spent two hours trying unsuccessfully to connect the base to the rest of the device. Impossible. The parts that were supposed to connect the base to the shelf were lost due to welding work. Metal is too difficult to bend. I've been trying to do it in different ways for a long time. I didn't want to attach it to the panels in the common room. I didn't want to poke holes in the wood. But I finally did after spending over two hours trying to avoid it. Once attached to the wall, it works quite well. It required four screws, which I had to source myself as one was included in the kit (one, not two and certainly not four). The kit also included two anchors (not four) which I didn't use. On the other hand, the packaging was perfect. It would be better if it was properly made and not perfectly packaged.
