I built an outdoor kitchen many years ago and recently needed a makeover to replace my gas grill with a Big Green Egg. I built a new tabletop using decking material in the part where the egg would have lived and used a tool to make a hole. I read the instructions once, plugged it into my router (Porter Cable) and cut the perfect hole. Since I cut a hole instead of a washer, I also attached a quarter inch piece of plywood to the base to keep the router from moving. Simple, easy and correct. The hole is exactly the size I wanted without any fuss. To me, the best way to rate a product is based on the wife factor: she liked the results, so I like the product.
