Kenmore branded parts are always very expensive. My Kenmore bagless vacuum requires a Hepa filter, which Revain sells for $35. With modifications you can use these very cheap ($8 for 3) filters. Remove the standard filter from the vacuum cleaner. It is a plastic filter frame into which the actual filter material is melted. If you carefully cut out the used filter, you can put these normal filters into the plastic frame. They don't fit perfectly, but they do the job. For the price they are amazing. After changing the frame, you can simply insert a new general filter if necessary. My experience is that Kenmore products never use "stock" parts and their branded parts are incredibly expensive. I've been using this universal filter for 3/4 years now with no problems.
