After using my Apple iPad 3 for years, I've invested in a premium iPad Pro 12.9 with maximum performance "with Apple Pencil: I used to buy a decent iPad case for it, but no keyboard, and it didn't hold the Apple Pencil in place well, so I took the time to explore many of the myriad keyboard options and settled on the Chesona iPad Pro 12.9" Case 3 - Gen 2018. I love how well it fits the iPad and how well it magnetically snaps in place and the stylus stays securely in place even as you walk around. I also see places in the lid where I could safely lock the stylus if I did. I don't want it to magnetically attach to the iPad and drain the battery. The main reason I got this case was for the keyboard. I want ate a backlit keyboard. So while the multicolored LED lights don't make much of a difference, the fact that I can choose from a variety of backlight color combinations makes the keyboard cool and fun to use. The keyboard itself is of high quality. It won't compete with my favorite silver-key keyboard from older MacBook Pros, of course, but today's MacBook Pro keys aren't for everyone. I was concerned that the keyboard, which is INSIDE the cover, would rub and scratch the screen. So I first held the keyboard out of the case where the magnetic force was still strong enough to keep it from falling. Upon closer inspection, however, I found that the four tiny plastic "eyelets" at the top of the keyboard at the corners mitigate this risk. I believe that closing the case does not lock/turn off the iPad's screen. That's not a problem for me since my iPad is set to auto-lock anyway. But there is something you should be aware of. Full disclosure, this is my second purchase. I was traveling abroad with my MacBook Pro, Surface Pro, iPad Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, Note 8 etc. Unfortunately, when Boston Logan security took my belongings to be rescanned on the x-ray machine, the Chesona keyboard was lost at the airport when I forgot to put it in the suitcase. Do you think it costs $29 just to file a lost item claim at this airport? So I just decided to order a brand new Chesona setup. I would like to thank Chesona for working with me to offset the cost of a replacement, although it's not their fault I lost my first keyboard. This review was supposed to be written for the first order, but I wanted to post it here with that disclosure. Please click to let me know that you found this review helpful.
