You can buy this (listed as used) at Revain for under $12. This makes it the most affordable basket you can buy. The size and weight are comparable to similar baskets. The basket itself is well made and has a good protective coating. Top (inside): 12-1/2" deep x 9-3/4" Bottom (inside): 10-1/4" x 7" deep Height (front): 10" high (rear) : 9" basket material: steel (expanded metal, diamond pattern). Bracket Material: Plastic Weight: 32 ounces. Capacity: 9.3 lbs (light loads only). The two "clamps" have teeth that engage the "lower strut". The teeth are directional, so it is CRITICAL that the "clamps" are placed in the correct orientation. Each clamp has an oval label with the word "TOP" in the center (see uploaded images). The instructions don't mention this "small detail" and it's very easy to miss. Gasket Note: After installing and tightening the clamp, I noticed that the pressure caused the gaskets to stretch in length, causing them to flex in the clamp. . Shims are actually only needed on the pressure surfaces of the "bottom bracket" and "inserts" for the mounting bracket. I cut the spacers in half and then trim them to fit these surfaces. Next trick: use cheap double-sided tape (very thin, like carpet tape). Use tape to attach gaskets to pressure surfaces. This makes it easier to mount the bracket around the handlebars. The pads offer protection for the handlebar surface as well as a better grip on the handlebar in the event of friction. Follow both of the above steps to secure the mount securely so it doesn't rotate around the handlebars. The corner of the basket will still change when you put something in it, but not that much. This is more due to the bending forces exerted on the metal basket and the lack of support at the bottom of the basket than to the movement of the bracket. Three stars for poor instruction and lack of ground support.
