I really like this butterfly cross stitch pattern. I haven't started yet, but I've been sewing cross stitch for over 25 years. I can't wait to get started on this. Fabric, dental floss, instructions all look good so far. I'm not sure I would recommend this for a beginner. Unless the beginner is well focused, doesn't have much patience and has never touched any needle. I think one of them is more suitable for those who have an intermediate or advanced level of cross stitching. To update. I started this project on July 17th. I have a little over 5 weeks. Now for the update. With more than 50 colors, including color combinations and fairly permanent color changes, it is tiring, takes a lot of time and requires a lot of patience. So if that's not you, this project isn't for you. But I love it, I've been sewing cross stitch for about 35 years now. I invest a lot of time in this project almost every day. I'm retired and have plenty of time, and with the pandemic still going on, I have plenty of time. I downgraded my rating from 5 stars to 3 just because the quality of the floss isn't the best and some colors you have so little and some - LOTS! unbelievable! In this project there were 5 different green variations. I didn't have two greens and half of what was needed. Do the same with one of the yellow flowers and thread it, to complete the purple flowers. How could this company make such a big mistake? Being an advanced embroiderer and having a few packs of DMC floss on hand, I had to rummage through the cases to find matching colors or colors as close as possible to them. I refuse to spend more money to complete this and my heart goes out to those who had to do it. We've already paid $30 for a kit that we assumed had pretty much everything we needed. Another thing is that the pattern sheet is split into two separate sheets, which is normal. The problem, however, is that there is a table of color keys on the back of one of the sheets. So while you're working on this half of the drawing, you have to keep turning the paper over to see what color you want to use. And believe me, this pattern has many colors. Therefore, constantly flipping the sheet back and forth can be a bit tiresome. I don't know why the color key table shouldn't be printed on a separate sheet of paper. . look for another update i will make sure. To update . It's now October 1st and I've been working on this for a little over two months. I think I'm three quarters of the way there, plus I still have to sketch out the details. This is a beautiful design. There are many flowers, but the floss is a little dull. And again, in my opinion, this is definitely not for a beginner. And since there are not enough dental floss in different colors, I lower the rating to three. How can you expect a project, any project; to be completed without all the tools and materials required for completion. So buyers beware! Like others in their reviews, you will find that there is not enough floss to complete this multi-colored project. On the other hand, dental floss needs many colors. I have been doing cross stitching for over 35 years. I've never bought a set where I was missing a thread. It's not a very good quality yarn, it's quite thin and comes off easily, so what's the problem with giving more than less?
