Review on JubileeYarn Chenille Yarn - Worsted Weight 100G/Skein - Rouge Color 2 Skeins by Jason Jirsa

Crochet warning good for me

I actually really like this yarn for the most part - I got the marzipan color and it's very pretty, and it's also very soft and true to gauge - but because of the way it's made, the softness/fluffiness will absolutely slough off the raw ends and just leave a bare thread, so there's no way you could leave any of the yarn hanging out of the work or make anything like a tassel out of it. Also when you use a tapestry needle to sew the ends into the work, the needle's eye tugs on the fluff as you pull and the fluff scrunches together to create another bare spot. Same goes for when you make a magic circle to start crocheting in the round - when you pull the yarn end to tighten the circle, the fluff wants to scrunch together in places and shed off the loose end, which makes you not want to pull it tight, which leads to the circle loosening as you work with it. I've been crocheting with it for a few days and it has served my purposes well and looks nice, but I haven't had to pull out any stitches (so far) and I'm afraid if I do then it will be very difficult to reuse whatever length had to be tugged out.To be fair, I will probably buy this yarn again because I like the way it feels and the color isn't available in other yarns of this type, but if color isn't an issue then I will probably use Bernat velvet instead, as it doesn't have nearly the same problem with scrunching/shedding or bare spots.
