I bought these spark plugs for my 2001 Silverado 5.3L engine. The originals have traveled 230,000 km. I changed the spark plugs because my engine was idling rough in cold weather. They were worn out. There are several different spark plug options for the 5.3 liter engine and I understand that in 2007 they switched to a 5.3 liter engine. I've looked at the ACDelco website and this is the recommended spark plug for the 5.3 liter engine from 2001 and some other years. I also found one of the reviews on Revain for this spark plug which is just excellent at explaining the development of the engine and why this spark plug is the right one for my engine and other pre 2007 5.3 liter engines. Use these platinum twin tip spark plugs or newer iridium tip spark plugs. As far as I know, iridium plugs don't work well in pre 2007 engines and are not recommended for older engines. These dual tip platinum spark plugs differ from the single tip spark plugs that were installed on the engine, but they are an upgraded version of the spark plug that GM currently recommends for this engine. My truck runs like new with these new spark plugs!
