This gauge shows me 129 VAC. When I test the same outlet with TWO different DMMs (a high quality Amprobe AMP-320 and a cheap Walmart E-Sun DMM), BOTH DMMs read 126VAC. Not a huge difference, but still a difference. I use this in my RV and every RV should have and use basic electrical testers BEFORE connecting to a power pole, ESPECIALLY camping power poles. The non-contact voltage detector (NCVT) included in this kit is one of the essential tools. AFTER the second power socket test with a DMM, the outlet tester (also included in this kit) should be used on the INTERNAL outlet at all times to monitor the condition of the circuit being monitored. AC power at campsites can vary widely. By using this tool, you can determine at a glance whether the power received is too high or too low to endanger your expensive electrical/electronic equipment, which can give you time to take the necessary corrective action. In a typical household, regular use of this device can give you the same warning for normal AC power. All in all, these tools are worth owning and using at this price point.
