I have used the competitor's transparent version many times and I like the results. I saw the price for it and decided I wanted to compare products. First, he does exactly what he says. You just can't see the placement of threads/yarn/etc underneath as it's opaque. Once I accepted it and used the product, it works fine. It may require a little more rinsing than rinsing, but that was fine. I ended up buying a clear sheet from this company as well, they have great prices! Haven't used it yet but if it's as good as this one I'm sure I'll be happy with it. By the way, it has NO glue on the back, it's a washable fleece that you sew on and then rinse to remove. Given the glue-like factor in washing it down, I think one could easily use it to stiffen the fabric, or at least give it some temporary support, brushing it on as a liquid glue/starch very much like a transparent one. What I don't know is if it will turn white when dry. Transparent, becomes obviously transparent on drying.
