Overall this is a good shoe. I wore them inside for a few days before removing the tags and wearing them outside. There are a few hotspots, but not enough to cause any problems. I wore them to work during the day to break in again and again. One thing I noticed right away is that they tend to "drift" on smooth and low carpeted floors. I attribute this to the depth and spacing of the traction spikes. This makes any smooth floor slightly greasy. I felt it on the sidewalks and in the streets. If your knuckles rotate easily, pay special attention to changing surfaces. Now for the good. The next day I took her for a 5+ mile run. Moderate terrain and surface changes ranging from grass to mud, gravel and river rocks. There are no traction problems. The climbs and descents seemed exceptionally safe, some quite aggressive. I even climbed a few fallen logs to see if they would fit the rounded surface. Normally I don't care what a piece of sports equipment looks like, just how it works. I chose red/black over green/black (which I would have preferred) simply because of the price difference. The style is actually pretty chic. They'll be completely destroyed by the end of the summer steeplechase racing season, but for now, they're looking great! Bottom line: I wouldn't use these for road shoes or road runners as the cleats slip as they grease. However, I believe they will help me reduce the time I spend doing cross country runs and hurdles.
