Review on GoodBoy Pink Inflatable Donut E-Collar For Dogs & Cats – Comfortable Post Surgery Or Wound Recovery Collar (2) by Mike Shah

Spaniel approved! good for me

I was looking for a post-neuter alternative to a cone for my English cocker spaniel Linus (he weighs 25 pounds and I used a size 2, for reference). As he is a fairly long-bodied and weirdly flexible dog, I had worried he might devise some contortion to bypass the collar. He did once, but that was user error as my husband put it on wrong with the opening in the front (it needs to be in the back); once corrected, it was fine. After 5 days, Linus hasn’t minded wearing it at all; in fact, I think he will eventually miss having the built-in pillow for napping in any position. He can eat and drink with it on, and play with his chew toys, which is a godsend while his activity is limited. He can even go through his doggie door with it on. It was initially difficult to inflate—we used a pump, because it would take forever to just blow into it—but once up to pressure, it held its air and hasn’t needed to be topped up. A spay or neuter using a cone is a nightmare, but this collar made it smooth sailing. I would highly recommend this collar to other pet owners.

Pros
  • Comfortable – This inflatable neck donut is a soft and lightweight alternative to a traditional e-collar cone, designed to prevent your pet from biting or licking surgery sites, injuries, rashes, or stitches. With cozy fleece for your pet’s comfort, it allows your pet to eat, drink, play, and sleep normally and doesn’t block their vision during their recovery. The soft donut fits right around your pet’s collar and can be used with dogs or cats
Cons
  • The collar may be difficult to clean without damaging the inflatable material
