This is a large insect lantern. Although advertised to get rid of mosquitoes it only seemed to catch small moths. And it was very loud when he hit the flying bug! So loud it scares you and your pet. If the discharge were silent, then I might want to leave it alone. Tried outside at night and also tried inside to get rid of the flies. A few flies flew in, but one stayed alive in the bottom of the bowl. And some small moths flew out of the night when opening the tray. The light is bright and will disturb your sleep if it is near a window. And discharge can startle and wake you up. I still don't know what to do about mosquitoes. They are annoying, especially when they come into the house and buzz around you while you are sleeping and being woken up by mosquito bites.
