Review on Revco Industries GB100 Extreme Helmetcatch by Richard Edwar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits better than expected.

Let me start by saying that I am not a welder and have owned my welder less than 24 hours so this backpack will not be abused on a daily basis. When I bought this backpack I wasn't sure if it would have enough room inside for a hood and jacket. Finding a sweat backpack was relatively easy as there are only 3 options, all ranging from $60-$80. I decided to pay $20 more than other brands because of the side glove pockets. I thought I could put a glove on each side because I bought these large caiman skin gloves. This item more than exceeded my storage expectations. In the backpack I have a large pair of Dewalt grinding glasses, two 1 pound spools of .035 and .030 wire, four drill rolls, two serrated lock washers, two hard disks, 5 cut-off wheels, two packs of contact tips, hammer, welding. Scissors, two 6" C clamps, two weld clamps with a Milwaukee 4" vise, wire brush, grinding wrench and supplies, hood and jacket. I am very happy with the internal memory. I have an obvious helmet on the outside, My very large gloves fit on one side of the bag so the biggest bonus is the fire extinguisher AND 4.5" grinder fit on the other side! Priceless. If anyone is looking for a welder, that little thing next to the backpack is the Century FC90. Smaller than a toaster oven, it welds 1/4 inch thick steel in one pass. Flux core so you don't need gas. It's like using a glue gun is amazing I love that. For only $500 I can now repair my own trailer and make things that I need for my carpentry work. If you are interested in backpack, just buy it. My girlfriend appreciates my newfound collection of sw durable gear which is impeccably put together and more important than house cleanliness, it keeps my tools clean and protects my helmet from scratches. If I were a professional who had to carry these tools and accessories, owning this backpack seems like a no-brainer, even if you have a store to put these things in I really can't think of anything that unites and protects everything. But I'm no pro, and you pros might think I'm just one of those guys who bought a useless thing. If so, call me a dork because I love it.

Pros
  • Arm and hand protection
Cons
  • Very expensive
