As others have said: ground not connected to programming pins. I remember reading about this when I was originally looking for STM8, but when I bought this pack I forgot. Surprisingly this worked when both STlink and USB were connected, but not when only ST-Link was connected. As it turns out the ground pin on the programming port is not connected, it is on the local ground fill which has two vias that should be connected to the main fill, but the vias aren't even drilled and are clearly not making contact. Clearly a production error. It's a small problem, a trivial solution, but it speaks volumes, this defect has reached Revain. Additional Notes: - no headers, which is unusual for this type of kit. the other protection can be easily damaged in transit - it turned out to be flashed with a serial bootloader, which I don't need since STlink is used. Might be important for those who don't have an STlink. Furthermore, it is what it is and can be used after being corrected in the field.
