I got my cockatoo from a man who kept him in a cage that was too small. I ended up buying a large cage and needed perches to fit the cage. This rope bar is amazing. It's long so you can twist it to make curves and dips in the bar. With the end caps, it can be quickly installed in the cage - it also holds up well! I managed to adapt it to several other natural perches in its cage. I was surprised at how well this rope can carry the weight of my cockatoo. It just doesn't flex under its weight like I expected. Before I got this perch, in the morning I found my cockatoo clinging to the edge of the cage - turns out he wasn't sleeping on his perches. Ever since I installed these perches I find him content sitting on these rope perches every morning. I've kept these perch in his cage for four months and they're holding up really well - easy to clean up and he doesn't seem interested in chewing on them. Highly recommended as a supplement to the natural bass.
