I don't think I would carry this around for a bike, too heavy. But that's not my use. This is my spare tire. Runs through the frame, around the big 19" hoop and folds in half at the temples. It just takes too much time and noise to steal a spare part to be worth the trouble. Let the hijacker get into the nearest vehicle with a 14mm or smaller cable lock. These are silently defeated with regular bolt cutters in 30 seconds or less. It's all about containment.
