Review on Stainless Steel Vacuum Insulated Double-Wall Thermos Water Bottle With Handle Lid - Perfectly Insulated For On-The-Go Use by Jesse Francilme

Revainrating 4 out of 5

5 stars if it had a rubber base. Great value for the money, will buy more.

I had a stainless Camelbak 17oz bottle that I bought from a major retailer about 2 months ago. It was over 2x the price as this bottle. The black powdercoating on the outside got dinged up not even a day after buying it. It was too narrow, making it topheavy, easy to knock over. Not nearly enough capacity - almost to the point where it's not worth filling and bringing along! This bottle shares a lot of those disadvantages, but beats the Camelbak out in others. If I were designing a water bottle. it would have a nice wide, removable rubber pad on the underside. This one has no padding, it is cupped, concave. It's very stable, but noisy when set down, and the black finish will eventually get worn away. I have already dropped it from hip-height, the bottom edge survived un-dented, I filled in the paint scrape with a black paint pen.The capacity, and dimensions are ideal, that's a huge win over the camelbak. Cold retention. Very weak. Probably half as good as my camelbak. This isn't a big deal to me, it's just a "nice to have." So if your priority is thermal, buy something higher end. I think water tastes better coming out of stainless than it does out of a nalgene. The cap's finger hook is too small, but, the camelbak had no grip loop whatsoever, so that's an automatic win. Overmolded rubber on the cap loop is already wearing away, they shoudn't have bothered.tldr, will buy again because the capacity and dimensions are perfect, and because it's inexpensive. Bottles get lost, dinged up, destroyed, you have to factor that in when shopping.

Pros
  • Cold liquids stays cold, don't sweat, don't leak.
Cons
  • The bottle may sweat on the exterior, creating a slippery grip
