There are times when I want to seal a product or be able to protect food from sunlight Product. I also occasionally need a more durable bag that can handle breakdowns better. This is a pack of 50 heavy duty 10" x 7" aluminum coated food grade Mylar bags. The bags have a top notch on each side above the zipper and an expandable bottom to allow them to stand upright when filled. (Pages 2 and 3). It's very useful. They require a pulse heat sealer to seal, unless I'm just using a zipper as they won't fit a standard external food vacuum sealer. It doesn't have "vacuum channels" to allow a standard vacuum food container to evacuate air, and Mylar bags don't seal well with this type of device. They are thick and durable and offer higher puncture resistance than regular plastic food packaging bags. I have and use the excellent VESTA brand internal vacuum chamber which works very well with this type of bag as seen when a piece of cheese is sealed inside. Page 4. The entire pouch is placed in a vacuum chamber to ensure vacuum and sealing with this superb instrument. I would definitely recommend you check this out as it is better suited for use with this type of puncture resistant lightproof Mylar bags. Pages 5 and 6 show the excellent seal and how I can see multiple layers of a food grade Mylar plastic bag when the score breaks.
