Our router overheats very easily, esp in summer without air conditioning. We had a small fan, but it works much better and is much quieter than the fan we used previously. My only complaint is that the power cord is only about a foot long, which is fine if you're powering it from the device it's cooling, but our router doesn't have a USB port. We ended up using an Ikea plug with 3 USB ports at the end of a cable long enough to reach a socket around the corner, so it's fine, but be aware that the power cords are very short are.
