Review on Fit System 88058 Non Heated Replacement by Dany Meadows

When I received the "Fit System 88058 Replacement Unheated Driver Side Mirror Lens and Base Plate" it did not fit the truck even though the website said "It will fit your Silverado 2004HD 2500HD" . Unfortunately, instead of sending it back I decided to change it to fit. After installation, I noticed that the thin glass in the mirror was deformed by the tension of the mounting spring. Because I modified the mirror I couldn't get it back. This deformation distorts what I see in the mirror. Live and learn I think. I think it should be added that the tensioner part is very fragile and broke during installation. Given the low price of a full mirror assembly, I would suggest that you only replace the assembly and not the glass.
