I'm a luthier who works with mother of pearl, abalone etc quite a bit. I cut inlay templates up and down the guitar neck, headstock and rosette. Occasionally I also use hardwoods and reconstructed stone. What. I use sizes from 1/8" to 1/32". The store I've bought these bits from in the past charges the same price for each size, regardless of size. They charge almost $25 each. I don't usually have problems with 1/16 and up, but 1/32? They break all the time! And there's nothing quite like that little feeling you get when you hear the beat "ping" and see STILL $25 fly out the window. I'm a fairly experienced bead inlay artist. Well, I know the feeling of too much "pressure" when calculating what it's going to be with such a tiny piece. Yes, it didn't seem to matter how much I felt them, they rarely switched from one guitar to the next. I knew there had to be a better product. I stumbled across this 5 piece 1/32" set and for over $30 thought what could be worse? meaning actual cutting time) and does not appear to deteriorate with wear. I haven't noticed any reduction in performance or smoke or clogging yet. It seems premature to post this review so soon after I started using the Beats, but they've already outlasted the X mark by 2 or 3 times and THAT is real, tangible dollar savings. Very happy with this product!
