The quality control of this device is extremely poor. When I tested the thermometer, it worked in reverse. The initial temperature was about right, but after placing the probe in hot water the temperature went down. After looking at other reviews on other sites, the wires in the probe are mixed up. I had to disassemble the connector and swap the wires. After that it works correctly. You really need to test these probes before they leave the factory. The screws on the connector also tore off the plastic.
