Review on πŸ’ͺ Efficient Valve Core Tool: Park Tool VC-1 for Quick and Easy Maintenance by Joseph Lang

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Does the job for which it is intended.

Not the most important thing in your bike tool kit, but useful nonetheless. I use Lezyne pumps with their Presta and Schrader valve threads as I tended to destroy Presta valves with my old Zefal (SKS) Husky and HP frame pumps. The downside is that with a Lezyne threaded connection, Presta valves can snap out of the stem when unscrewing the pump fitting. It's a little funny to watch the valve assembly fly out of the fitting, but it's not useful in a hurry. I know I can and have use needle nose pliers to tighten the valve assembly but I love my tools and I knew pliers can hurt so I figured why not order this not so expensive park tool. Also, it's pretty cute. Works as expected on Presta removable hardware. I didn't need a Schrader fitting, so I can't say anything about the back and the thread cut-out in the middle (for post-processing or cleaning the threads on the stem). This will make tightening easier and the valve will no longer fly. From what I've read on the Gore web, not all Presta tubes have removable valves. Schwalbe lamps have them and I use them. I recommend.
