Each little plug has its own MAC address and internet connection. You connect them to your home WiFi (you have your home WiFi, right?) and then you can control the outlets with Alexa or via the Wyze phone app. This allows you to turn on and off anything plugged into the outlet. What I like is that the ports don't need to be connected to some kind of controller as each one connects directly to your WiFi. However, you have to be careful when setting up the little suction cups, which should definitely be configured to work on the 2.4GHz side of your WiFi network and not the 5GHz side. The problem is that your phone may be configured to operate at 5GHz and if you try to use your phone to tune the plug, the plug will be unsatisfied. Secret: Connect your phone to 2.4GHz (temporarily), plug it back in, then reconnect your phone to 5GHz. Also note that the plugins (along with all other Wyze products) go back to the cloud to Wyze-landia for instructions from your phone app. This means that in the unlikely event that Wyze goes bust as a company, your Wyze stuff will be fried. just say
