Does everything and some.

There is a lot of controversy surrounding this tool, read on and I'll spare you the research. This is not a false tool. Everything in the box looks original and legal, nicely packaged. There are two divisions of the same company that make similar instruments: Launch USA and Launch China. This is a Chinese model. This is very similar to the US model. I chose this model for the same reason you are here, it's more economical. I've been using it daily for two months with good success. It has all the manufacturer features I need at a pro level including key immobilizer features, cylinder input and power balance. However, I had some difficulties installing the programmable modules, but with the included subscription, you can submit a help request so Launch China can help you with any confusion you may have while using this tool. It's like the entire launch staff is working with you. I discovered this the hard way, thinking I had a defective unit and contacted the seller directly for further assistance. The seller pointed me in the right direction and sent me instructions on how to use the help function. This is really top notch software. With all the adapters included, I can diagnose anything that comes through the door with confidence. In terms of hardware, it is a solid tablet that feels good in the hand. The DLC adapter is easy to remove from the storage compartment, it's wireless, but once you've finished the diagnostics section there's a loud warning reminding you to unplug the car, a nice little feature. The subscription can be a bit expensive, but when it's expired, the tool still works the same as before, you just won't be able to download new updates. Good software, good support, and good hardware at a fraction of the price of Launch USA or Snap-on. Accept my 5 stars.

Pros
  • I have my fingers crossed
