Bought these lights for the July 4th hike. With covid19 disrupting many of our usual Independence Day traditions (parades, rodeos, fireworks, etc.) we decided to spend the holiday at a campsite and made a special effort to make it as festive as possible. These lights did it! They arrived exactly as described. The remote has some fun settings and the batteries last forever. I never changed them and used them daily (not constantly but gradually) throughout the month of July. Since they are battery operated, you can literally place them anywhere. The "string" between the lights is a wire that makes it easy to direct the light where you want it. When using them at home, I would throw them over and around the pictures on the table. The wire made it easy to place the stars exactly where I wanted. My kids really enjoyed these lights and a lot of people at the campsite complimented them for being fun and bright. Definitely worth every penny!
