I have always used clamps and sometimes they slip or have problems. I bought this to speed up the process and I will say that this tool is very easy to use. The only thing to note is that you want to manually rotate it between the brakes so it has a little bit of pressure. Or hold both sides firmly with your hands and the ratchet will work.
