I bought this unit for a RAID 1 mirrored drive Most of these drives have dip switches to set the RAID status. Software is required to set up this device and there are no, and I mean zero, instructions for setting up this drive. I had to find a video on Youtube and spend a lot of time looking for software and setting up the device. After setup, the Mac didn't recognize the device and had to use Disk Utility to erase the drive. Not user friendly at all and requires a certain level of technical skill to make it work if you don't want a RAID 0 status. Prepare for a frustrating 30-minute setup.
