Better than metal

This is better than the metal available at the hardware store. It has blunt edges so if I put flexible aluminum tubing over it the edge doesn't try to cut into the pipe. It also doesn't have an obvious joint like metal joints, which are folded sheet metal, so there's less air leakage. The only downside I see is that it can tear if you overtighten the hose clamp and it may not like the heat. . But for my application of redirecting ventilation, it's perfect.
