So far so good - my new review

[Update in 5.5 weeks] About 50% of the time the monitor flickers after waking up. The solution is to restart the monitor. It currently uses a 10ft Club 3D DisplayPort cable, but we will most likely try using a 10ft Maxonar DP cable to see if that fixes the issue. Installed the Samsung monitor driver (a bit tricky) but had no noticeable effect. Mostly including HDR. Brightness and contrast adjusted via the Nvidia control panel. Using a custom Nvidia driver (no GeForce Experience files) which significantly improves MSFS frame rates. (30-40%). Google "huge performance boost msfs2020". So far I really enjoy working with the monitor! The date and place of manufacture of my monitor is January 2022 in Mexico. 7680x1440). It's a step down in a way (less space) but now I'm borderless, 4K, 120/244Hz and curvature. Set up was relatively easy, by one person. After assembling and putting on the back cover, I realized that I need to update the firmware to the latest version 1011. Access to the USB ports is not possible when the back cover is switched on. I used the auto crop tools to remove the back cover. Simply. After the update I installed the USB extension so I can upgrade the monitor with a back cover in the future. I haven't noticed any improvements to the monitor since the update, but others have said that Samsung has made positive changes to HDR. A few hours later I got a completely black screen of the monitor. later, which disappears only after restarting the monitor. I've read from others that I had to restart the monitor immediately after a firmware update, so I'm assuming that was the cause. Since then no problems. I used EIZO to test the monitor and confirmed no dead pixels of different colors. All is well. So far I have learned that I have to change the reaction time depending on the game. I'm still working on it, but MSFS seems to work best at 60Hz when running at 5120x1440. There is more work to do with the simulation to get a smooth flight. Also experimented with running the simulation in a 2560x1440 window on the monitor. The smoothness is much better but the immersion is lacking. Dying Light 2 and Assassin's Creed Valhalla run great on Ultra settings at 240Hz. Hitman 3 performs best at 120Hz. Recent experience is that I often have to access the monitor menu. My system is a 5900x OC CPU (4.9GHz) and a GTX 3080 OC GPU. I currently have HDR turned off due to the screen's relative darkness, but I'm still trying to get the most out of this setting. I also change the zoom in windows settings from 100% to 125% depending on the work I'm doing. I installed Samsung Easy Setting Box to position the application window. The app is pretty simple and I love it. There's also Display Fusion, which is technically better but more difficult. So to each his own. I will update after a few weeks of use.
