The spring-loaded grip design has two major drawbacks. First, the spring isn't tight enough to hold my SE phone (yes, I still have the original SE); Second, the angle of the rubberized pads REDUCES the contact between the grip pads and the edge of the phone. See image. It just doesn't work. Mount it to the air vent and the phone just slowly slides down and it sits in place. Of course when I drive it slides off. Very disappointed, will try another product. It might work for a larger device but I don't think so.
