Review on WeChip Backlight Wireless Replacement Protector by Doug Layman

After receiving the remote control, I quickly found that it could not wake up a stopped computer. So after a quick google search I found the FLIRC USB IR Receiver and it works great with Wechip to wake up/pause the PC. Just install the FLIRC GUI app, select the Media Keys controller, bind the wake/suspend button to the power button on the Wechip remote and you're done. Also make sure that the USB port you are using supports USB Wake Support. Only 2/10 of my USB ports were supported. Can't comment on battery life or other quirky bugs/features yet, but it works exactly how I wanted it to wake up/suspend the PC and point and click the play button. 04/14/2020 - After the purchase I ordered two more, one for home and one for work. I use linear PCs without a keyboard and mouse, so this thing saves me time for quick fixes until I need to type a lot. The air mouse and wake up (+FLIRC) function is basically what I need it for, so I don't use the keyboard much. That's fine, but can be tedious if the inputs aren't simple. Otherwise I had no problems. I have a feeling it will charge for a month or more depending on usage. Also, don't forget the Learn IR feature! You can teach the power button of your wechip to the power button of the TV remote control, and then turn on/off the PC and TV at the same time! The battery lasts great, I can't even remember the last time I charged it and all the buttons still work. Would still recommend it!
