Works as it should but with a big NO

So this tool helped me fix 3 long LED sets that had completely failed. Replacing the kits would have cost me about $75 so I decided to give this tool a try. With his help I was able to find and replace many of the failed LEDs in the kits to get them working again. Took me about an hour to complete one sentence. I ended up only replacing 15 bulbs. Here's a BIG BUT if you're thinking of buying this. Do you have a lot of LEDs to replace broken ones? Replacing lightbulbs is not one of them. Remember that LEDs are NOT universal. Each set seems to use a different shaped base for their bulbs. I used the x-acto knife to reshape the LED bases I had on hand to fit different kits. I declined my other two sets because the bases were badly rusted. This kit contains 2 spare parts for corroded bases, so what will you do after that? Also in my case, although the sets work, what happens if they fail again? I've run out of lightbulbs and once they're in the house I won't be taking them with me for winter troubleshooting. The lamps are all the same age, so it goes without saying that there will be many more failures soon. After this season I will buy new sets on sale. So the decision is yours. How old are your sets? Do you have the patience to fix bugs? Do you have many spare bulbs? Are you sure it's just a bulb problem and not cartridge corrosion? The tool works. Start in the middle of the set and work your way down. It illuminates what works and easily checks individual bulbs after removal. It comes with an installed 9V battery and is ready to use. If you have a lot of blown bulbs, check one at a time with a crimping tool until you start finding the bad ones (start at the end closest to the plug. Good luck!
