I ordered this drive for my new Mac mini Mac OS Big Sur 11.1). The first one I got didn't work. When I plugged it into the USB port, the drive indicated it had power, but the Mac didn't seem to recognize if the drive was plugged in, with or without the drive in the tray. As stated in the note that came with the disc, I contacted the seller directly in hopes of getting a solution to this issue. A very nice sales manager (Koko) sent me some useful information including a video that helped me to conclude that the problem was with the drive. When I shared this conclusion with her, she immediately agreed to send me a replacement, which arrived within a week. The new one worked perfectly as advertised. You simply connect the drive (to either one of the USB-C ports or to the USB 2 port), plug in the drive, and it starts right up. No additional software is required. It comes with a USB-C to USB-2 adapter and a nice hard case. I played music CDs and copied some CDs. These procedures worked well. I haven't tried burning a disc. The disc has only been working for me for a week, but so far I'm happy with it - it works as expected.
