Withstands at least 20 amps without overheating/shutdown.

I've looked through countless versions of this and found that the amperage can be random compared to the "rating". I bought these 40 amp breakers to replace a pair of 50 amp breakers from another supplier that tripped at 20 amps. They stay cooler and don't fire at 8 p.m. The voltage drop is also a little less than the poor 50A circuit breakers (which makes sense since the heating of the bimetal due to the overcurrent flowing will trip this circuit breaker).
