Review on 🌬️ High Performance K&N Premium Cabin Air Filter: Clean Airflow to Your Cabin for Select 2005-2019 Toyota Tacoma, 1999-2002 Subaru Liberty, 2003-2008 Pontiac Vibe (VF2005) by Art Porras

The build quality is EXCELLENT. The design is EXCELLENT (with one downside). The shield covering both sides of the filter prevents mice from accidentally chewing on the filter material, and the washability saves a lot of money. However, the length and width dimensions of the item I received is approximately 1/16 inch smaller than the OEM filter. It seems like an insignificant number, but if you're trying to filter out tiny dust, pollen, etc., 1/16th of an inch. quite significant. My 2015 Tacoma doesn't have a "ledge" on the inside walls of the airbox body when you slide the filter in, so there is a narrow but open passageway on the edges of the smaller filter that allows smaller particles to get into the air . fan and finally the passenger compartment. I was able to rock the K&N filter from side to side after installation even adjusting the filter size to the widest to fill in the side to side orientation. The backlash was even greater when the filter was rotated 90 degrees. The OEM filter had no play and had a tight friction fit. OEM and K&N filters are available in a variety of lengths and widths. Attached are 4 photos showing all 4 cases. Compare two short measurements and two long measurements. To measure, I used two squares as giant compasses. The photos aren't perfect, but I measured a few times and the average clearly showed a 1/16 inch difference, as mentioned above. Note that the K&N filter rib orientation relative to the OEM filter is 90 degrees with the long and short sides being equal. That's not a problem, but I'll mention that someone reading this and looking at the photos shouldn't think that I got the filter size comparison mixed up. BUT! The quality and design (aside from the size) of this filter is so superior to the OEM that I ended up resizing it to the smaller size by applying 1/16 inch thick adhesive-backed foam tape to two adjacent sides of the K&N filter glued. Foam tape in place, filter with a smooth, friction fit and no side to side play Pushed on manhole door closed with no extra effort compared to the OEM filter I would highly recommend this product but only if you are willing to upgrade the fit if you want want a good seal.
