That's all you need. (Brown switch) (from a gamer's point of view)

Why I bought this keyboard: 1. I wanted to take up less desk space2. I like new technology and wanted optical switches3. The value proposition here was very intriguing. Potential Deal Breakers: 1. Lighting. If you're a crazy RGB freak, you probably don't need it for VERY picky reasons. The RGB used in this keyboard has two LEDs for each key. I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea or what they wanted, but the downside to this is that you can see both LEDs depending on what color the board is trying to display. 2. Shiny sides of the keycaps if you are very picky3. No media or volume controls. (Can be fixed if you download and run an automatic hotkey at Windows startup. This is a little more advanced for some, but anyone can do it, even with your keyboard, which you're probably using now.) Pros (in order): 1. Typing Experience (brown switch, this is my second mechanical keyboard) โ€“ For those who don't know, brown mechanical switches have a tactile bump that feels like a wall of sorts when you hit the key you're pressing. The brown switches don't click and the sound they make is muffled and quiet, which I really like. I came from a Logitech 810 with a G Romer switch, Logitech's patented mechanical key switch. These switches are very similar, but I'd say the optically brown Gaterons on this keyboard have a slightly more pronounced tactile punch. I was happy to try these switches and I liked them. I played Type Racer for a few hours today just because of the amazing typing experience and the nice deep bass sound coming from these keys. They are also a big reason I took the time to write such a lengthy review of this product because I love typing on these switches. Really nice. 2. Games (again, the brown switch) - I'm a gamer, so this point will be either a plus or a minus in this review and of course on the list of pros. As for the optical switches, the lack of input lag really confused me once I started playing. I've read that typing on other keyboards is around 30ms while optical ones have no input lag at all. I felt weird at first, but after a few minutes I got used to it and use the keyboard like I normally would with my G 810. I played a first person shooter with it today and the tactile bump was more of an annoyance than the G Romer switch. on 810 but I don't mind because eventually I get used to it and don't notice it anymore. It's different, but not so much that I can't handle it. If you like linear switches, then of course you don't want anything to do with brown switches. Stabilizers - Big keys like the spacebar, shift, backspace, and enter feel very solid. In particular, the space bar on my G 810, along with other keys, was really bad and I'm glad I'm rid of it. That spacebar was ridiculously clicky, while the spacebar on this keyboard does a satisfying TUMP.4. lighting works. I'm not that picky or RGB freak. I like the good backlighting of each key and that makes me happy. The double color you get from weird LEDs is weird, but it doesn't matter. Consult your keyboard manual for instructions on changing lighting effects using the + (any key) function. (You can do more with the software, but it's not easy to find, and I don't think most people will download it because that's how they find it.) Bottom line and choice for me: I'll never buy a branded keyboard again . For $50 I got everything I could ever need from a keyboard, while high-end brands like Logitech would charge $100 to $120 or more for similar offerings. Spending the extra money on something else would be a 100% waste for me. I wouldn't get anything useful for me or my setup. Regardless of the price, these switches are amazing (I only had this one and a G Romer switch, by the way).
