My neighbor pulled this worn out closet to the curb. I saved it after it rained and the veneer peeled off. After some sanding, priming and a coat of chalk paint, the transfer went great. You definitely need to be patient and take your time. I had a lot of practice rubbing 6 sheets and found that my Home Depot paint stirrer worked better than the small one that came with it. Since my piece was narrower than the transfer I ended up with small pieces that I used on the boxes inside. I painted the boxes with cheap pink acrylic paint and after I was done the abrasion was noticeable - the transfer definitely works best with good quality light paints. Also, remember to tape the backing to the translation at both ends when you first remove it from the tube, as the backing has a habit of curling up on its own and you don't want the translation sticking to the bottom .
