Just replaced the entire tie rod/center link on my 2012 Ram 2500. I couldn't find a stock anti-roll bar damper at the time of the change, so I decided to buy a Bilstein shock. This turned out to be an error. The Bilstein was about 4 inches longer than the Mopar shock. I had to compress it to fit the mounts since the mounting point only has about 1 inch of adjustment. Here's another big difference: when you squeeze Bilstein, it expands on its own. When installed, it forces the truck to steer to the left. When the Mopar shock compresses it stays in place, equal pressure on both sides means there is no pressure on the tie rods and now the truck stays straight instead of swaying to the left. I am very happy with the Mopar damper and surprised that an aftermarket damper can go this far. Wow, if I hadn't changed the shock myself I wouldn't have known and possibly wasted money on unnecessary alignment.
