The 2nd version of this bag will be better as there are such obvious improvements and Carhartt is good company. The straps that convert into a backpack over the shoulder need improvement and the bag doesn't really fit much - maybe half of what a backpack can. This is not a true backpack replacement. The position of the middle strap lets it hang badly on your body in almost any position, and the second strap is essential if you want to grab it like a handbag. All positions of the belt for holding this bag are uncomfortable. The inner side pocket for phone and keys needs to be deeper, as does the outer zip pocket - there's no reason it needs to be shallow for little or no storage.
