Review on Klein Tools D2000-48 8-Inch Linemans Diagonal Cutting Pliers - Angled Head, High Leverage Design by Orlando Mohr

Quality control issue - peak on blade

I had a pair of journeyman ladies before so when I saw that this pair required a bit more effort to cut wire I just assumed it had something to do with it. I've used them sporadically for over a month, mostly working with larger wires, but sometimes I've noticed that they don't cut smaller wires. When you're busy getting the job done, you might think that something else prevented you from breaking through, and you just keep going. I took a closer look the other day and noticed that the cutting edges have a tiny gap as they meet a high point right at the base of the blades. So if you cut thinner wire (14 ga or less) there it's fine, but anywhere above it won't cut all the way through. We tried to return them but the return period has expired. I'll try to grind that high point without ruining its ability to cut there as well. I've been using Klein-Tools for over 20 years. This is the first time. I read another similar review. If they want to remain the tool source of choice for electricians, they need more quality control. If I can't fix it I'll buy Klein again, but not through Revain. I will buy it locally where I can see the blades fully closed before making my purchase.
