First of all we note that this is not a classic Newtonian reflector. This is a Bird Jones reflector that uses a spherical mirror instead of a parabolic one and has a corrector + 2x Barlow under the focus tube. At the same time, it is inherently difficult to aim lasers, but its design allows it to be so compact. With a classic Newtonian lens, it would have been almost twice as long. The quality of the image is pretty high, make sure you collimate it before using it. Collimation can only be done with collimation caps, but Celestron's collimator does not fit the eyepiece. (Too long and will hit the corrector lens in the focuser.) A shorter lens from other manufacturers is recommended. The weight of the mount is only about 6 pounds. Super light but not strong enough. You may need to add some weights. The counterweight will not be heavy enough when you add accessories to the OTA. I would set my counterweights all the way. The scope cannot be declinated because the plastic cap says "Celestron" which restricts the movement of the rings that hold the OTA. Solution? Sawed off. (or put a heavier viewfinder up front) But it's still a very good price! It is so compact and light that anyone can physically carry it.
